    In 2020, the Fado & Food Group announces a broader package of products that synthesize differently the experiences of watching Fado live with its gastronomic offerings.

    FADO INSIDE THE BOX, on its way to completing five years (2014), established itself with a high demand event. Daily, at the Adega Machado fado house (1937), for one hour you can watch live fado with wine tasting and snacks.

    FADO ON THE RIVER (2019), about to restart the second season. Fado out of doors with Lisbon and the Tagus River, major inspirations of fado themes, as a backdrop.

    “DESGARRADA VÍNICA” Wine Tasting ”, opened in 2020 in great style, the potential objective is very clear: in a convivial environment, to make known the rich diversity of wines from the various regions of Portugal.

    FOOD FOR FUN, scheduled to debut in 2020, invites participants to the interior of a kitchen that is the evidence of gastronomic evolution in a fado house. For 2 hours, a cooking experience in entertainment mode that adds useful knowledge to everyday life.

    Fado & Food Group participates in the sudden death of Executive Chef Alexis Gregory on 10.01.20.

    Management and Board offer warm condolences to Family, Friends and Colleagues.

    In 2009, Chef Alexis Gregory embraced the challenge of securing one of two compelling cultural components in a fado house: the kitchen of Café Luso.

    He managed to demystify and reinvent the traditional Portuguese cuisine, but respecting the matrix.

    In 2012, he accumulated the functions of Executive Chef of Café Luso and Adega Machado restaurants.

    He participated regularly in trainings, competitions and gastronomic events, always bearing the names of the houses where he worked and the Group.

    Imminently creative, he has developed in recent years seasonal letter proposals that demanded his demanding dedication. Among them we highlight the tasting menu of Adega Machado, innovation in fado houses.

    He dedicated his last months to the elaboration of the new debut letter of Café Luso, and of the menu of St. Valentine.

    It fostered enthusiasm and involved its teams, sought to cooperate in extending service to room and artistic teams.

    All teams, but especially those he headed in shock, are deeply dismayed but prepared and encouraged to continue a project to which the Executive Chef has made invaluable contribution, acknowledged and never forgotten.
